Where to stay on the French Riviera
The French Riviera is one of the most legendary holiday destinations in the world. Renowned for its beautiful scenery and glittering parties, this part of the South of France has played host to just about everyone who is anyone over the years. Scattered along the coast, the seaside resorts and hilltop villages of the French Riviera are still as popular today as when they were first discovered by the jetset back in the 19th Century. Originally a fashionable winter destination, these days the French Riviera is popular all year round, thanks to its glorious Mediterranean climate and ever present sunshine. If you’re looking for an unforgettable family holiday or a luxurious vacation with friends, the French Riviera with all its style and charm is the perfect location.

Stunning St Jean Cap Ferrat
St Jean Cap Ferrat might be just down the road from Monaco, but when it comes to lifestyle, this former fishing village is a world away from the Principality. The traditional village centre is as charming now as when it was first made famous back in the 19th century, and the luxurious properties dotted along the peninsula are surrounded by wild, unspoilt coastline as far as the eye can see. Although it’s only small, St Jean Cap Ferrat has a great selection of restaurants and bars for dinner and drinks, and the private beaches along the peninsula are absolutely lovely. If you’re after a relaxing break in one of the most select destinations on the French Riviera, St Jean Cap Ferrat is a perfect choice.
If you’re looking for luxury vacation rentals in a lively seaside resort with plenty going on, the little town of Antibes is ideal. One of the prettiest destinations on the French Riviera, Antibes is always buzzing thanks to its busy social calendar. Throw in a handful of magnificent sandy beaches and year-round sports and cultural events, and you’ve got the makings of a holiday to remember when you book one of our luxury villas or apartments in fascinating Antibes.
Possibly the most glamorous city in the world and most definitely one of the most beautiful, a holiday in Cannes is memorable for all the right reasons. Rent one of our fabulous luxury villas in the hills around Cannes or treat yourself to a city-centre apartment along the Croisette, you’ll love the lively atmosphere and dazzling social life that Cannes has to offer. In May, Hollywood rolls into town and takes over the Palais des Festivals during the Film Festival, but Cannes is busy all year long with exciting international events. Explore the narrow streets and one-off boutiques of the old town, find your new favourite restaurant in the port or simply relax with a cocktail on one of the chic private beaches, Cannes has something for everyone.
French Riviera Hillside Villages
The French Riviera hinterland is as lovely as it is historic. Spread out over the hillsides behind Cannes and Grasse, you’ll find dozens of pretty villages where the residents still celebrate local festivals and saints days, just as they’ve done for hundreds of years. Ridiculously picturesque, the hinterland is where you’ll find the Provence which has inspired numerous writers and artists with its olive groves and endless fields of lavender. From a trip to the daily market to buy locally-grown fruit and vegetables, to tasting freshly pressed olive oil from the town mill, you’ll love spending time in the hills of the Riviera on your next French vacation.
Sassy St Tropez
For the beach holiday against which all future beach holidays will be measured, there’s nowhere quite like St Tropez. Famed for its gorgeous sandy beaches and its incredible nightlife, St Tropez is the liveliest resort on the French Riviera. Spend the summer months topping up your tan on the exclusive beaches of Pampelonne, or partying to music mixed by the best DJs in the world in one of St Tropez’s many clubs. St Tropez is still as delightful as it was back in the 1950’s, when Brigitte Bardot slipped into a tiny bikini and put the village on the map once and for all. Join in with a game of boules in the Place de Lice, check out the weekly produce market or grab a coffee in the port and watch the world go by, St Tropez is one holiday destination which never goes out of style.

When is best to visit?
It’s always a good time to visit the French Riviera. Once known exclusively as a winter resort, these days the French Riviera is a popular year-round destination. The summer months tend to be the busiest period when holidaymakers from all over the world come to the South of France to take advantage of the beautiful beaches along the coast and work on their tans. The long hot summer days on the French Riviera become long hot summer nights, and there’s always time for one more delicious ice cream to keep you cool before the sun goes down.
But the French Riviera is more than just beaches, there are also some fantastic ski resorts in the Southern Alps, just a couple of hours away from the coast. Play a round of golf overlooking the Med in the morning, then hop on a helicopter and spend the afternoon in the fresh powder of Isola or Auron, who said you can’t have it all? With mild weather and glorious blue skies throughout the cooler months, a winter holiday on the French Riviera is the perfect combination of sun and snow, who could ask for anything more?
