Mykonos Town ( Chora ) is the main village as well as the most picturesque area of the island. The traditional Cycladic architecture of the small, cubic, whitewashed houses with their colorful doors and windows is globally famous for its charm. Chora consists of many little narrow streets which resemble a labyrinth and are nowadays full with chic boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Chanel , souvenir and jewelry shops, small cafes and numerous clubs. The Old Port of Mykonos Town, with its cafes and restaurants, is the central artery of the island and Matoyianni Street (the main street of Chora) is the centre of the island’s commercial activity. Mykonos Town is a pedestrian zone and during the long summer nights it is also a place which never goes to sleep. During the day, tourists go around to visit the many wonderful sightseeing spots of the Town such as the notorious Windmills, the magnificent church of Paraportiani, the archaeological museum, and Little Venice where crowds gather to enjoy the magical sunset. Mykonos Town is probably one of the most cosmopolitan areas of the planet and it is therefore a constantly booming property market.
